Consultations

Speak one-on-one with a licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) during a 15-20 minute consultation. This initial conversation is a low-pressure way to gather information, address your concerns, and explore whether Speech Therapy might be a good fit for your child.

During the consultation, we typically discuss:

  • Your child’s medical background and family history

  • Your main concerns regarding speech and language

  • Your child’s current speech and language skills

  • Daily routines and favorite toys or activities

  • How your child communicates with family members and peers (words, gestures, sentences, etc.)

  • Specific speech or language challenges and how they may impact overall communication

We also provide guidance and resources to help support your child at home, including:

  • Speech and language activities you can do together

  • Strategies for meaningful interactions

  • Helpful apps and home exercises

  • Healthy screen time recommendations

A consultation can offer peace of mind, helping you understand your child’s developmental progress relative to age expectations.

There is no obligation to commit. This is simply a chance to ask questions, gain clarity, and see how we might support your child.

💡 Alternative Option: If preferred, you may also answer our initial consultation questions via email by contacting us directly. Please include ‘Email Consultation Preferred’ in the message.

Screening

Take the first step in addressing your concerns with a Speech Therapy Screening. Screenings typically last 15–30 minutes and can be completed either in-person or virtually.

The purpose of a screening is to:

  • Determine whether a full Speech and Language Evaluation is needed

  • Identify areas outside of speech and language that may require assessment

  • Highlight potential challenges in areas including language, speech, oral motor coordination, fluency, and feeding.

  • Provide information on whether your child may benefit from speech therapy

We offer in-home and in-school screenings at multiple preschools and private school locations throughout Coastal Georgia.

Speech Language Evaluation

A Speech-Language Evaluation provides a comprehensive understanding of your child’s strengths and challenges in speech and language. This information is used to create personalized Speech Therapy goals tailored to your child’s needs.

The first step is a brief phone consultation (see description above) with a licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologist. This will helps us tailor the evaluation to your child’s unique needs.

Evaluations typically last 60–90 minutes and assess areas such as:

  • Speech Sound Production (Articulation)

  • Receptive Language (Comprehension)

  • Expressive Language (Expression)

  • Reading and Written Communication

  • Oral-Motor Skills (Coordination and Speech Motor Planning)

  • Pragmatics (Social Language Skills)

  • Fluency (Flow of Speech)

During the evaluation, we screen for early signs of conditions such as Articulation Delay, Dyslexia, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Phonological Disorder, and Language Delay.

After testing, you will receive a written report detailing results and recommendations. A Speech-Language Pathologist will review the findings with you, including recommended frequency and duration of therapy sessions.

To closely monitor progress and determine readiness to graduate, reassessments are conducted regularly throughout therapy.
